![]() I think there is some real tragedy in that and sadness also since Kharn is looking at what will one day be him. The book also has my favorite moment in the series and its a small one: When Kharn walks the battlefield after the battle is over and finds another World eater dying in the mud and the dying world eater says something about how the nails are still singing, compelling him to fight and kill. Book 1: Betrayal - Battle of Isstvan III. Each campaign can be run to represent the 'historical' events, or can be set somewhere else with other forces to represent another of the many untold events of the Heresy. SPOILERS Personal highlights are: Kharn and Argel Tal "rescuing" the Saint, Angron shoveling himself into the earth out of rage, the Sanguis Extremis duel were all the World Eaters punish the one captain (or seargent?) who left his post and DONT kill him (didnt see that coming). Each book contains missions and a campaign system to run a different type of campaign during the Horus Heresy. Kharn as well as "Argel Tal" (sry I only listened to the audiobooks) are great characters with a nice dynamic. But the dynamic of a legion that actually doesnt care much for their primarch at all and has no unifying trait other than fucking nails drilled into their skulls that make fighting tactically close to impossible was genuinely captivating. I never thought Id care for the World Eaters or Angron, from afar they seemed like a bad joke to me. ![]()
